When you are in the parked vehicle with the parking brake on, the ignition on, and the door closed, press the touchscreen of the dashcam to view the PIN screen.
Enter the default PIN 3333 to unlock the dashcam for the first time, or your own PIN subsequently.
The screen unlocks and the menu can be viewed.
Press Settings to open a menu with the following items:
Turn the Wi-Fi on/off.
Turn the Mobile hotspot on/off.
Hotspot – On
Select the APN that is available on the SIM.
Add customized APN parameters – scanning a barcode.
Connect any auxiliary cameras to your dashcam.
Turn the text overlay in video recordings and video events on/off.
Turn the distracted driver feature on/off.
The Distracted Driver setting must be turned on to trigger in-cab alerts for any distracted driving events.
Turn the in-cabin recordings on/off while keeping distracted driver feature working.
The driver is notified when in-cabin recording is turned off. There is a message “Cabin camera recording is disabled”.
Driver position (Left/Right)
Set where the driver is sitting to calibrate the distracted driver feature.
Speed units (in MPH)
Switch between miles per hour and kilometers per hour for speed display in video recordings and video events.
(US) Date format
Switch between US date format and ROW format.
Turn the audio alarms for dangerous and distracted driving events on/off.
Notify live streaming
Turn the driver notification when someone is watching the live stream through a text indication on the dashcam screen on/off.
Enable encryption from the Surfsight Portal or via API first. Once enabled, the encryption can then be disabled and re-enabled from the dashcam or from the portal.
Change the Settings PIN.
Set or change the driver's PIN.
This gives the driver less access to the dashcam menu.
Calibrate the accelerometer of the dashcam.
This feature is available with the AI-12 dashcam. The AI-14 dashcam calibrates automatically.
Calibrate road-facing Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) to enable tailgating and lane weaving events.
Turn encryption for recordings files on the SD card on/off.
The SD card must be empty to turn encryption on.
Control the screen brightness.
Select the dashcam's language.
The speed of the mobile network used by the dashcam.
Display the camera IMEI number (a unique identifier of the camera).
Display more information about the dashcam, such as software version, number of external cameras, and internet interfaces.
Display the dashcam's certifications.
Build Version: XX.XX.XX
Displays the dashcam's software version.
Turn virtual ignition on/off. When on, the dashcam wakes up from motion and enters standby after no motion is felt for a set period of time.
Format the SD card.
This needs to be done for new SD cards.
Reset the camera to factory settings.
Turn the dashcam off in the AI-12 dashcam or restart in the AI-14 dashcam.
Make any settings changes you want.
