Enable encryption for SD card recordings

Note

This is a feature compatible with the dashcam v3.10. For more information, contact your partner success manager.

You can encrypt the recordings on your SD card. Each recording file is independently encrypted using a password and an AES algorithm that is supported in FIPS 140-2. The password must be set through the Surfsight cloud and can be 16, 24, or 32 characters in length.

Note

When first setting up encryption, it must be done from the Surfsight cloud. Once enabled, the encryption can then be disabled and re-enabled from the dashcam or from the cloud.

Important

Encryption must be set on an empty SD card.

Important

Encryption only works on videos recorded with 720p resolution or below.
