SIM Swap (AI-14 Dash Cam)

The AI-14 camera sets a special flag internally the very first time it connects using an AT&T SIM card. If you later swap to a different carrier's SIM or back to the original or a different AT&T SIM, the camera will not connect properly unless this flag is cleared.

To switch SIM cards, perform a factory reset after installing the new SIM. Take these steps:

Once the device is booted with an AT&T SIM, a new SIM (AT&T to a non-AT&T or a non-AT&T to AT&T) will not work without performing the factory reset procedure.

  1. Replace the SIM: Physically insert the new partner SIM card.

  2. Perform a Factory Reset: A factory reset must be performed after the new SIM is replaced. The factory reset removes the one-time AT&T provisioning flag, allowing the device to reprogram itself according to the SIM that is currently installed.

  3. Add an APN (if necessary): Add the correct Access Point Name (APN) for the new SIM, if the APN is not already included in the device firmware (FW).
