Alerts are heard and seen from the dashcam when risky or distracted driving occurs. The audio alert is a beep from the dashcam and the visual alert is an icon that appears on the dashcam screen. For risky driving events, an event is triggered and sent to the cloud at the same time as the audio and visual alerts occur. For distracted driving events, a few audio and visual alerts occur to coach the driver before an event is triggered.
You can enable or disable audio and visual alerts for different events in the Surfsight® Portal. By default, visual alerts are enabled and audio alerts are dependent on whether Enable audio alerts is enabled or disabled in Settings. Alerts can be enabled or disabled for individual dashcams, multiple dashcams, or for an entire organization.
To configure audio and visual alert settings for events:
-
Enable audio alerts in individual dashcams, multiple dashcams or for an entire organization. For further information see, Configure dashcam settings.
-
Enable and disable individual event audio and visual alerts. For more information see, Event settings.
The following table lists if audio/visual alerts are available with the dashcam settings described.
