Accelerometer calibration from the Surfsight Portal

The dashcam contains internal sensors that detect risky driving events. You need to calibrate the sensors before using the AI-12 dashcam. The AI-14 dashcam calibrates automatically.

The sensors can be calibrated from the Surfsight Portal or from the dashcam.

Note

You can only calibrate dashcams that are online.

Caution

Before you start, make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, the ignition is off, and the dashcam is online. If you are in a hilly area, move the vehicle to as flat an area as you can.

To calibrate the accelerometer from the Surfsight Portal:

  1. Log into the Surfsight Portal and from the navigation bar, click i-events.png.

    The list of dashcams loads.

  2. Click the settings cog next to the vehicle you would like to calibrate.

    A window opens with the Event Settings list.

  3. Click CALIBRATE.

    The accelerometer is calibrated.
