Lane weaving event
SUR-4408
This feature is available with firmware v3.11. For more information, contact your Partner Success Manager.
A new event, Lane weaving, is now triggered when a vehicle crosses over a certain number of lane marking lines (dashed or solid) in a specific amount of time.
When triggered, the dashcam beeps and an icon appears on the screen. Additionally, an event is sent to the cloud. For this event to trigger, road-facing ADAS must be calibrated.
From Event Settings in the Surfsight® Portal, you can set for individual dashcams, multiple dashcams, or for an entire organization:
-
Number of lane changes: the number of lane marking lines the vehicle crosses to trigger the event, between two and ten. The default is three lane marking lines.
-
Duration of lane weaving: the amount of time during which the lane marking lines are crossed, between five and sixty seconds. The default is thirty seconds.
Configurable audio and visual alerts for events
SUR-4710
This feature is available with firmware v3.11. For more information, contact your Partner Success Manager.
You can now separately enable or disable the audio and visual alerts for each event in the Surfsight® Portal. By default, for each event:
-
the audio alerts are dependent on whether Enable audio alerts is enabled or disabled in Settings
-
the visual alerts are enabled
Alerts can be enabled or disabled for individual dashcams, multiple dashcams, or for an entire organization. To enable audio and visual alerts:
-
Enable audio alerts in the Settings area.
-
Enable audio and visual alerts for the desired events in the Event Settings area.
QR code scan event
SUR-4409
This feature is available with firmware v3.11. For more information, contact your Partner Success Manager.
A new event, QR code, is triggered when the in-cab lens scans a QR code. The QR code is sent as metadata of the event.

OrderNow dashcams can only be activated in the MyGeotab add-in or through the API, and not in the Surfsight® Portal.

At kb.surfsight.net some tables are poorly formatted and may cause difficulty in reading them. We're currently working on overhauling our knowledge base and planning this fix as part of the changes. In the interim, partner resellers can refer to these PDFs in case they need a different format for better legibility. |

Live video may sometimes flash continuously while streaming. We are monitoring this issue and evaluating possible solutions. |
SUR-5044 |
Locked dashcams' event settings are not set to off by default. They continue to send video to the cloud using data from the mobile network for any events configured with video attached. Work-around: Before locking a dashcam, change all of its event settings to off. |
