New Features and Enhancements

Pin Randomization Delay (EU)

The AI-14 automatic PIN randomization is now delayed by 2 hours after the device first connects to the cloud. Previously it triggered immediately on activation, locking installers out of the default PIN before on-site setup could be completed and causing install failures and partner escalations. The 2-hour window preserves the EU security requirement while giving installers a reliable grace period.

Installers can now:

  • Use the default PIN for a full 2 hours after device activation.
  • Complete on-site setup without being locked out mid-install.
  • Rely on the device securing itself automatically — the PIN randomizes after 2 hours if still on the default value.

Scope:

  • Applies to organizations with PIN randomization enabled. Required for organizations with EU installations.
  • Applies to AI-14 devices and cloud-side activation logic. No Dashboard or mobile app changes.
  • Randomization is skipped or cancelled if the Admin/Driver PIN is manually changed, a factory reset occurs, or the organization uses a custom default PIN.
  • No customer-facing UI changes. All randomization events are audit-logged, with a new reason: DEFERRED_CE_RED_ACTIVATION.

Devices Intermittently Shown Offline, While its Powered On and Recording

Camera status in the portal now stays aligned with the device's true state, even when status messages arrive out of order. Previously, a camera could show as offline or in an incorrect state despite being powered on and recording normally — out-of-sequence status messages could leave the cloud reflecting an outdated state. The backend now identifies which update is the most recent, so cloud state is driven by the device's actual condition rather than by message delivery timing.

Users can now:

  • See more consistent and accurate camera status in the portal.
  • Trust that an offline indicator reflects an actual device condition, not a delivery-order artifact.
  • Rely on correct status without re-checking or manually refreshing devices that are in fact online.

Scope:

  • The device intermediately showing offline is only applicable to AI-14 in all geography. Not for AI-12.

  • Backend infrastructure update only. No device firmware update, portal change, or configuration change is required.
  • No action needed from partners or end customers.
