Video footage is uploaded to the cloud every time an event occurs. The video footage captures the 5 seconds before and 5 seconds after the event and is saved in the cloud for 31 days. The recordings are triggered based on the rules you set per dashcam including:
-
the default Surfsight® rules, as described below in this article
You can set the rules for a single dashcam, as described here, or in bulk.
To set up the dashcam rules:
-
From the Surfsight® add-in, go to the Vehicles area.
-
Click Camera Rules from the row for the dashcam that you would like to set.
A window opens with the Event Settings list.
-
Select the type of vehicle in which the dashcam is installed.
This setting determines the sensitivity for each of the events. For example, vibration or turns change based on the kind of vehicle, and so events are triggered differently. From the top of the window, open the dropdown list to select one of the available options.
-
From the scroll down menu next to each event, select how you want the event to be handled.
-
Set the email alerts per event.
-
Click Save when you're finished to save the configurations and return to the Vehicles list.
