Configure Surfsight camera rules for a single dashcam

Video footage is uploaded to the cloud every time an event occurs. The video footage captures the 5 seconds before and 5 seconds after the event and is saved in the cloud for 30 days. The recordings are triggered based on the rules you set per dashcam including:

  • the default Surfsight rules, as described here

You can set the rules for a single dashcam, as described here, or in bulk.

To set up the dashcam rules:

  1. From the Surfsight add-in, go to the Vehicles area.

  3. Select the type of vehicle in which the dashcam is installed.

This setting determines the sensitivity for each of the events. For example, vibration or turns change based on the kind of vehicle, and so events are triggered differently. From the top of the window, open the dropdown list to select one of the available options.
