Configure Surfsight® camera rules in bulk

Video footage is uploaded to the cloud every time an event occurs. The video footage captures the 5 seconds before and 5 seconds after the event and is saved in the cloud for 31 days. The recordings are triggered based on the rules you set per dashcam including:

You can set the rules for a single dashcam, or in bulk as described here.

To set rules in bulk:

  1. From the Surfsight® add-in, go to the Vehicles area.

  2. Check the boxes next to the individual vehicles that have installed cameras or filter for a group of cameras and select the group.

The Bulk Edit Camera Rules and Bulk Edit Camera Settings appear at the top alongside the other options.

    vehicles_camera_selectBulkEditOptions
  3. Click Bulk Edit Camera Rules.

A window opens with the Event Settings list.

    events_bulkEditEventSettings
  4. Select the type of vehicle in which the dashcam is installed.

This setting determines the sensitivity for each of the events. For example, vibration or turns change based on the kind of vehicle, and so events are triggered differently. From the top of the window, open the dropdown list to select one of the available options.

    events_setVehicleType
  5. From the scroll down menu next to each event, select how you want the event to be handled.

    events_selectNotificationFormat
  6. Click Save when you're finished to save the configurations and return to the Vehicles list.
