This Release Notes document describes the following details for version C5 of the Surfsight® Portal:

New features

Wake up the dashcam from Edit Device window

SUR-7205

Users can now wake up the AI-12 dashcam using a WAKE UP button in the Edit Device window. This option allows for remote access of the dashcam to support functions such as retrieving recordings, streaming live video, and troubleshooting. For more information, see Wake the dashcam up.

Enhancements

USB Power On button removed from Edit Device window

In the Devices area, the Edit Device window, the USB Power On button has been removed.

Time limit added to custom range in date filters

SUR-7338

The custom range options available in date filters in Maps, Events and Analytics areas, are now limited to six months. Time limits prevent time outs and avoid displays of excess data. An error is displayed if a custom range of more than six months is selected.

Improvements to descriptions for dashcam brightness

SUR-7478

Configuration information was added to the description for the Brightness in Dashcam settings. dashcam screen brightness is set using a linear scale from 0 to 255.

Virtual events were created with media files from auxiliary cameras that were not connected, which resulted in missing media.

A check was created to only use media files from connected auxiliary cameras.

When a driver is assigned to a dashcam via API, it was not recorded as an event.

SUR-7411

In some cases, media was not available for virtual events from auxiliary camera media.

A retry mechanism has been implemented with auxiliary cameras to maximize the chance of successful upload of event media.

SUR-7450

In some cases, when auxiliary cameras were set to record continuously, recordings didn't show up in the Timeline.

Auxiliary camera recordings show up as expected on the Timeline.

KB issue

At kb.surfsight.net some tables are poorly formatted and may cause difficulty in reading them. We're currently working on overhauling our knowledge base and planning this fix as part of the changes. In the interim, partner resellers can refer to these PDFs in case they need a different format for better legibility.

SUR-3605

Live video may sometimes flash continuously while streaming.

We are monitoring this issue and evaluating possible solutions.

SUR-5044

Locked dashcams' event settings are not set to off by default. They continue to send video to the cloud using data from the mobile network for any events configured with video attached.

Work-around: Before locking a dashcam, change all of its event settings to off.
