The Driver Identification feature allows drivers to check-in and check-out on the dashcam by using a 5-digit driver PIN code or scanning a QR code. A driver may also be checked in or out using an API. For more information, see Drivers in the Developer Portal.
This article goes through the following processes:
To check in on the dashcam:

Wake up the dashcam. For more information, see Wake the dashcam up .
If enabled, a check-in reminder will appear for a configured time period with audio alert.
If the driver does not initiate check-in during the configured time period, a No check-in event is triggered, and a visual alert shows on the screen.

To check in, press the driver icon. The Select an action menu appears on the screen.

If the dashcam is not associated with a driver, the option Driver check-in appears on the screen.

If the dashcam is associated with a driver, the driver has the option to check-in or check-out. If a new driver checks in the previous driver is automatically checked out.

In the Select an action menu, press Driver check-in.
The option to check in with a 5-digit check-in code or a QR code appears on the screen. This option must be previously configured in the Surfsight® Portal or by API.

Check in by entering a 5-digit driver PIN code or present a QR code.
Confirmation of successful or failed check-in appears on the screen.
If driver check-in failed, the home screen appears and the driver can check-in again.
To check out on the dashcam:

Press the driver icon to check out. The Select an action menu appears on the screen.

In the Select an action menu, press Driver check-out. The option to check out with a 5-digit driver PIN code or a QR code appears on the screen.

Check out by the same method configured to check in, by entering the 5-digit driver PIN code, or presenting the QR code.
Confirmation of successful or failed check-in appears on the screen.
