About the dashcam SD card

Surfsight® dashcams support micro-SD cards with up to 512 GB of storage.

The dashcams record all of the trips the vehicle takes, including up to ten minutes after the trip ends. These recordings are saved to the SD card; events are immediately uploaded to the cloud as video, snapshots, or text notifications.

Note

The media format that is uploaded for events depends on the event settings of the dashcam.

When the SD card runs out of free space, older recordings get overwritten. If the SD card has not been manually backed up, the older recordings are lost.

You can format SD cards directly from the dashcam: Format the SD card. Similarly, from the cloud, you can encrypt the SD cards and manage their configurations. For more information, see:

Note

A 128 GB storage card holds approximately 100 hours of recordings.

Important

When auxiliary cameras are connected to a dashcam, the available memory in the dashcam SD card is split between the dashcam and all connected auxiliary cameras.

For more information about auxiliary cameras, see Auxiliary camera overview.
