Privacy Mode

We enhanced Privacy Mode for AI-12 cameras to address customers' evolving privacy needs. These enhancements enable integrators and fleet managers to manage device tracking and recording, helping partners meet their compliance requirements, increase device configurability, and ease integration.

Users can define privacy settings (GPS tracking, live video, in-cabin/road event recording, audio recording and more) at the organization, bulk device, and single device level. Use cases include:

  • Private use of a company car after business hours.

  • Driving through military zones or other secured areas.

Note

You must set the privacy mode to ON in order to utilize the enhancement. After you set it to ON for the first time, the previous device privacy settings will be ignored.

KING-161

The portal UI now features a new component for configuring privacy settings at the single-device, bulk-device, and organization levels.

Alarm Upgrades (BETA)

The revamped alarm service is a key part of our device health initiative, designed to provide users with increased visibility into device issues through alarms. This service offers guidance to help minimize the impact of these issues, enabling users to quickly identify and resolve them. Users will receive clear and timely notifications through their preferred channels and have access to step-by-step resolution guides to maintain optimal device performance.

Enhanced Alarm Management (BETA)

KING-73

The previous alarm reporting in the Surfsight portal lacked actionable data, hindering efficient issue resolution. This update introduces a redesigned "Alarms" report with key columns like IMEI, Device Name, Alarm Name, and a clear Status dropdown. It empowers users with crucial information such as creation date, closure details (time and user), last occurrence, and occurrence count. Furthermore, it streamlines support workflows by enabling direct actions like closing alarms with comments, viewing existing comments, and adding new ones, all within the report. This enhancement significantly improves the speed and effectiveness of addressing device alarms, that decreased the amount of downtime and the value derived from the Surfsight platform.

At kb.surfsight.net some tables are poorly formatted and may cause difficulty in reading them. We're currently working on overhauling our knowledge base and planning this fix as part of the changes. In the interim, partner resellers can refer to these PDFs in case they need a different format for better legibility.

SUR-3605

Live video may sometimes flash continuously while streaming.

We are monitoring this issue and evaluating possible solutions.

SUR-5044

Locked dashcams' event settings are not set to off by default. They continue to send video to the cloud using data from the mobile network for any events configured with video attached.

Work-around: Before locking a dashcam, change all of its event settings to off.

SUR-6123

Customers can set the minimum speed set the minimum speed for MVAI events creation between 0 and 180 kmh. However, if you set speed lower than 5 kmh, the events will not be created. (Due to hardware limitations, we are investigating possible solutions.)
