Surfsight®auxiliary cameras are cameras connected to the Surfsight®dashcam. When connected to the dashcam, the cameras enable live video and recording from the portal of additional perspectives during trips. The cameras are installed around the vehicle in key locations. All auxiliary cameras include a 64 GB SD card that stores approximately 100 hours of recordings. When the SD card is full, new recordings overwrite the oldest recordings.

Opening the auxiliary camera ball voids the warranty.

The DC-ACE-01 Wired auxiliary camera with wrap mount and DC-ACE-02 Wired auxiliary camera with flush mount models do not support wireless connections.

A Wi-Fi connection can be affected by distance and the amount of metal between the auxiliary camera and dashcam. We recommend using wired auxiliary cameras if the cameras are to be installed far from the dashcam, and particularly if they are installed on the opposite end of the vehicle.
The diagrams below show the installation and connectivity between the dashcam and auxiliary cameras.
Wi-Fi auxiliary cameras pair to the dashcam through Wi-Fi, and do not need to be physically connected to a router. Using Wi-Fi makes installation easier.
We recommend using the Wi-Fi auxiliary camera models when installing near the main dashcam, such as on the side mirrors.

Wired auxiliary cameras are hardwired to a router that is paired with the dashcam. If the auxiliary camera is going to be mounted in any location farther from the main dashcam than the area of the side mirrors, use the wired option. This increases reliability.
Wrap-mount cameras come with hose clamps and a silicone pad. They are mounted on the mirrors of the vehicle.
Flush-mount cameras come with a mounting bracket. They are screwed onto the vehicle, generally at the back.

When the vehicle engine is turned on, auxiliary cameras record video. There is no standby mode after the vehicle engine is powered off.

The video is saved on the auxiliary camera SD cards in two minute files.
Each file is approximately 20 MB in size.

The dashcam checks for auxiliary camera recordings approximately once a minute, one auxiliary camera at a time. Any available video files are pulled. Each transfer takes about thirty seconds.

The dashcam SD card contains all recordings, from the dashcam and connected auxiliary cameras. These recordings can be requested from the Surfsight® Portal and are used for video events.
