View trip history

Throughout the course of every active trip, the dashcam uploads the GPS location to the cloud every five (5) seconds until the trip ends. When the trip is over, the trip summary is posted in the Maps area of the Surfsight™ Portal.

To view trip history:

  1. Log into the Surfsight Portal and from the navigation bar, click i-cloud-maps.png.

    The Maps area loads.

    maps_viewArea
  2. Select the camera you want to view.

    cameras_cameraList
  3. Click the arrow from the Today display at the top of the panel.

    maps_selectTripDateRanges
  4. From the pop-up window, select the relevant time frame.

All the trips of more than 100 meters during that time frame are listed on the left side.

    maps_viewTripHistoryList

    The trip summary displays:

    • general location of the trip (including city)

    • date of the trip

    • end-to-end distance of the trip

    • total duration of the trip

    • total number of events that were triggered during that trip

  5. Select a trip in order to view it in the map to the right.

    maps_tripOverviewOnMap

A line graph appears under the map, similar to the following image:

    Maps-speedProfile.png

The speed profile includes this data:

    • vehicle driving speed

    • posted speed - when available, the general speed limit that is posted for most vehicles at the specific geographical point, in meters per second.

    • posted trailer speed - when available, the speed limit that is posted for trailers at the specific geographical point, in meters per second.

    • posted HVG speed - when available, the speed limit that is posted for heavy goods vehicles at the specific geographical point, in meters per second.

    Note

The posted speed limits are recorded based on a database that Surfsight™ has implemented, and are not reliant on the dashcam or any related services. This database is the first phase of the implementation of speed profiles, and does not at this time contain all global posted speed limits.

  6. Click anywhere in the trip to retrieve a recording from that part of the trip.

Click on an event icon in the trip to view that event alert.
