View recordings from Recordings

The AI-12 dashcam constantly records the trip on a local SD card. The video recordings from the dashcam can then be viewed and downloaded directly from MyGeotab, without access to the SD card in the camera.

You can access these recordings from Map and from the Recordings area. From the Map area, it's convenient to find recordings based on different points of the trip path.

Download the following recordings from the Recordings area:

recordings from road-facing lenses and in-cab lenses

The road-facing lens streams up to twenty four frames per second. The in-cab lens streams fifteen frames per second.
recordings from auxiliary devices
recordings by date and time

Note

The dashcam needs to be online or in Standby mode in order to view or download recordings.

To view recordings from the Recordings area:

From the Surfsight® add-in, go to the Recordings area.
Search for the vehicle you want in the Recordings window.

Each vehicle has two options: Options and Timeline.
Click Timeline for a quick view of recordings from the current day.
From the main pane, filter and view the recordings you need as follows:
1. From the date drop-down, select to the relevant date.
2. From the camera drop-down, select the device for which you'd like to view recordings.
3. From the time zone list, select the relevant time zone by which you'd like to navigate.
  
  If you're in New York, the default that appears here is EST, your local time zone. If you'd like to review events according to noon GMT time, select GMT from the drop-down list and then navigate to noon on the timeline.
4. Once you filter for the camera and dates, move the slider to the red sections of the timeline for different recordings.
5. From the quality drop-down, you can choose to watch or download the recording in Normal or High quality.
6. When you've found the recording you're looking for, click PLAY.
  
  The video loads in the center of the pane. Click the play and pause buttons as necessary.
Click Options to view a full list of recordings.
1. Go back to the Recordings page and click Options next to the vehicle you want to view.
2. In the drop-down menu, select the date and time of the recordings period you want to view and click Apply changes.
  
  A list of the recordings from the Surfsight® device appears on the right side of the screen.
3. To view recordings, click Play from next to the recordings you want to view.
  
  The recording downloads from the device and plays for you.
4. To save the video locally right click on the video player and save the video to your computer.
