Install an auxiliary camera on your vehicle

Install auxiliary cameras at different spots of the vehicle to enable tracking and video recording of additional perspectives during trips. Connect auxiliary cameras to the ignition power. Up to four auxiliary cameras can be paired with each dashcam .

Preparing for installation

Before installing an auxiliary camera, make sure you have all the necessary items and materials.

You can purchase the following items using the order form:

  • auxiliary cameras, with power cable and (for wired cameras) M12/RJ45 network cable attached

  • mounting brackets

  • hose clamps, either small or large

  • silicone pads

  • M12/RJ45 network extension cables, either five or twenty meters in length, for wired auxiliary cameras

You will need additional items that are not supplied by Surfsight™ :

  • a router, with WiFi support and enough LAN ports for the number of auxiliary cameras being installed

  • screws, for the mounting bracket and hose clamps

  • a Phillips screwdriver

  • we also recommend that you protect any cables outside of the vehicle using:

    • adhesive lined heat shrink (length 5”/12.7 cm) to protect all joints external to the cab of the vehicle

    • adhesive lined heat shrink, for wired auxiliary cameras
