Connect a wired camera to a router

Install the router as close as possible to the dashcam for a better connection.

The router you use must:

  • have WiFi support

  • enough LAN ports for the number of auxiliary cameras you are installing

  • connect to 12V or 24V DC

To connect the camera to a router:

  1. Use the attached six meter M12/RJ45 network cable to connect the auxiliary camera to a router. The cable can be extended with M12/RJ45 network extension cables.

Most M12 network cables are rated IP67. Any connections that are outside the vehicle cabin should be protected by adhesive lined heatshrink. This is not provided with your auxiliary camera.

  2. Connect the M12/RJ45 network cable to a LAN port of the router.
