Install an auxiliary camera in your vehicle

Install auxiliary cameras at different spots of the vehicle to enable tracking and video recording of additional perspectives during trips. Connect auxiliary cameras to ignition power. Up to four auxiliary cameras can be paired with each dashcam.

Preparing for installation

Before installing an auxiliary camera, make sure you have all the necessary items and materials.

The following can be purchased with our order form:

  • auxiliary cameras, with power cable and (for wired cameras) M12/RJ45 network cable attached

  • mounting brackets

  • hose clamps, either small or large

  • silicone pads

  • M12/RJ45 network extension cables, either five or twenty meters in length, for wired auxiliary cameras

The following are necessary for installation and not provided by Surfsight™:

  • a router, with WiFi support and enough LAN ports for the number of auxiliary cameras being installed

  • screws, for the mounting bracket and hose clamps

  • a Phillip's screwdriver

  • adhesive lined heatshrink, for wired auxiliary cameras
