Wi-Fi connections allow you to perform tasks (such as watching live videos, uploading recordings, and sending events to the Surfsight Portal) without affecting the data limit included in your monthly plan. With Wi-Fi you can connect the dashcam when pairing with auxiliary cameras.
To connect the AI-12 dashcam to Wi-Fi, make sure you have the dashcam with you, as well as access to the relevant Surfsight Portal account.
Note
If you connect the dashcam to a WiFI hotspot in your vehicle instead of using a SIM card, the time stays on GMT and does not switch to local time.
To connect the dashcam to Wi-Fi:

Create a Wi-Fi QR code

Connect to the Wi-Fi with the QR code

Select the relevant dashcam.

Scroll to the bottom of the window and select WIFI.
The WIFI window opens.

In the SSID field, enter the name of the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect the camera.

Select the Encryption relevant to your network from the drop-down list.

In the Key field, enter the password of your Wi-Fi.

Click GENERATE.
A QR barcode opens on your screen.

When you are in the parked vehicle with the parking brake on, the ignition on, and the door closed, press the touchscreen of the dashcam to view the PIN screen.

Enter the default PIN 3333 to unlock the dashcam for the first time, or your own PIN subsequently.

Press Settings.

Select WiFi.

Toggle the button to turn on the Wi-Fi connection.
When enabled, a list of available networks appears on the screen.

Press Connect to a Different Network.
The dashcam beeps several times.

Point the dashcam at the QR barcode on the screen of your computer to scan the code. A screenshot or printed version of the QR barcode is also sufficient.
The dashcam connects to the Wi-Fi network.
