Configure virtual ignition in the AI-14 dash cam

Virtual ignition provides two activation methods for the AI-14 dash cam:

  • Movement activation (Virtual Ignition enabled): The dash cam turns on automatically when it detects vehicle movement.
  • Ignition activation (Virtual Ignition disabled): The dash cam turns on only when the vehicle's ignition is switched on using the key.

In short, enabling Virtual Ignition uses movement-based activation, while disabling it uses ignition-based activation.

Virtual ignition can be configured in two ways:

Enable or Disable virtual ignition from the Surfsight® Portal

You can enable or disable Virtual Ignition for individual dash cams, multiple dash cams, or an entire organization from the Surfsight® Portal. For more information, see Configure dash cam settings.
